Abhishek Bachchan, the bollywood star who played the character of ‘Raavan’ in Mani Ratnam’s flick of the same name has been offered Rs 7 crores to act in a Raj Kumar Santoshi film.
The offer which has come from one of the biggest filmmakers of bollywood who directed hits like ‘Azab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani’(Ranbri-Katrina Kaif), ‘ Ghayal’(Sunny Deol) ‘Damiini’(Meenakshi Sheshadri-Rishi Kapoor), ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’(Aamir Khan-Salman Khan) etc, has foxed the industry folks.
Raj Kumar Santoshi wants to make this film with whole Bachchan clan—Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan—and this remuneration of seven crore was only for Abhishek Bachchan.
You can imagine the budget of the flick and also the clout that Bachchans hold over the minds and purse of biggies in bollywood. A veteran like Raj Kumar Santoshi is prepared to bet on Abhishek Bachchan after ‘Raavan’, only shows that Abhishek Bachchan’s acting in Mani Ratnam’s flick must have impressed Santoshi and that he was convinced of Abhishek’s pull power at the box office.
Earlier, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan had worked in film like ‘Sarkar Raj’ and ‘Bunty aur Bubbly’ (though Ash was there only for Kajrare number).
Strange na! Mani has been affected by ‘Raavan’ failure at the box office but Abhishek has touched new heights, no??
